So I’ve been a bit busy, not with Christmas though. I applied to become a childminder way back in August, there were some issues with my application due to my medical records being “in transit” between GP practices (I moved practice in July/August 2016, my records are clearly lost but obviously they won’t admit that!) but it finally got sorted to an extent that Ofsted accepted my application finally in early December. They told me that I would likely have to wait until after Christmas for my initial inspection which worked for me as Nick had two weeks off so I could get my last bits of paperwork completed then and we could do the little jobs that needed doing. Great! Apart from getting the call two weeks ago to say that they’d be coming on the 13th!
It went really well though, the inspector was brilliant and I got recommended! Which means that I am just waiting on Ofsted to reread my application, ensure it’s all in order and send me my registration certificate! I then had a family looking for childcare visit on Wednesday so we’ve been very busy the past two weeks getting the small things done and all of the paperwork. So much start up paperwork!
The point of this is that I haven’t had as much time to craft as I would like sadly, but I have finished A Thing.
This is Moogly’s Madly In Love hat, a really lovely design that didn’t take too long to crochet up at all. If you plan to make it I would suggest a tension square, my tension was one puff ch2 off and it would have made the standard adult hat waaay too big, so I went for the teen/small adult instead and it was perfect.
This beauty is unfortunately not for me, my antenatal group had a Secret Santa for the Mums (we did one for the children for their birthdays between October and mid-December where I made a gorgeous little Flamingo for the recipient!) But I think that I may have to make one for myself along with the matching cowl. I really hope that she likes it though, she did say hats and scarves as a suggested gift so *fingers crossed*
Very quick to make, very easy and really lovely in some of the Debbie Bliss Rialto DK! (Ultra Marine colourway, gorgeous! It took just over 100g annoying though so you need three balls.)
